last time i looked (about a year ago) they were between ?500 - ?1000.

i'm not getting one until they're at ?200 - ?500, or, i learn my lesson the hard way and wear out my camcorder tape drive

really? god_damn why so pricey? my camera has proved very unreliable at playing back footage that was not shot on it...****** !

It helps in that, now I know. So thanks Xender and Miker. That is WAY out of my price range though...sigh.

2 Resons Despo:

One project shot on 16mm. Picture is on one dv tape with un sync sound on another.

One project shot on beta, transferred to another dv tape.

My xm2 won't play any of these tapes properly (because the footage was shot on a differant format/camera?)

However a dv deck plays them all back fine. Hence my need for one. Maybe I can rob one from college [img]wink.gif[/img]

to add a PS,

i was having a million and one problems with firewire and windows XP when trying to export my footage to a cheap and nasty camera.

i then used a Sony Mini DV walkman, plugged it in and hey presto worked first time.

also same story with a Panasonic DVCAM Deck ,worked perfectly
